NIRM is equipped with modern laboratory facilities to carry out basic research on rock fracture mechanics. The laboratory has developed facilities and expertise in some of the frontier areas of research like thermo-mechanical behavior of rocks, and the application of Acoustic Emission and Ultrasonic Imaging techniques. The laboratory is manned by well-qualified personnel and is having experience of more than ten years.
